Chicago is a center of business, entertainment, tourism as well as culture. Chicago houses two major airports apart from two minor ones. The two major airports in Chicago are as follows:
Chicago O'Hare International Airport: It is an airport situated in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is located 27 km on the northwest of the Chicago Loop. United Airlines operates mainly from this airport. It is also the second-largest hub of the American Airlines. It is mainly operated by the Chicago City's Department of Aviation along with the help of an umbrella regional authority. In terms of takeoffs and landings O'Hare was the world's busiest airport till 2005. It carried out 64% scheduled commercial, 33% air taxi, 3% general aviation and less than 1% military aircraft operations. O'Hare is Chicago's most important airport. O'Hare International Airport has four passenger terminals serving it. Two or some more additional terminals are yet to be built. There is the chance of construction of a large terminal complex for the western part of the field.

Chicago Midway International Airport: It is the city's secondary airport. It is located closer to the main regions, like the main business and financial district.
Chicago Midway has experienced a major makeover. It is no longer crowded. In June 2004, the airport redevelopment project completed the construction of a new terminal and a concourse building with new airline gates, ticket counters and other areas. Twelve airlines including the Southwest, US Airways, and Delta operate from this zone. Midway MDW airport is situated 10 miles from the downtown of Chicago on the southwestern part of the city. The CTA Orange Line helps in connecting the airport with the downtown Chicago in approximately half an hour. Midway Airport’s new facilities and better location has helped in developing this airport a lot.
